2 days – $950
You will learn how to make a pair of desert boots by hand. The school provides patterns for you based on your feet measurements for a custom fit. These patterns are used to create leather uppers, midsoles and soles for the shoes. You’ll cut out the leather, prepare the materials and stitch the leather uppers to the midsoles, glue those to the soles and then form the upper. After a few finishing details, you’ll be taking home a pair of shoes you made yourself. Includes upper leather (8 color choices), midsole leather, insole pad, thread, glue, eyelets, rivets, shoelaces, sole material, patterns, 2 full days of instruction and use of tools on site.
We have a really great gallery of student’s shoes on our Facebook Page.

During my 40 years of shoemaking, this ankle boot was selected by my clients far and above all other styles. In this class you’ll learn more skills than the Beginning Shoemaking class: Making and sewing lined straps, lining and turning edges, creating a higher wedge or heel, (up to 1.5 inches) installing buckles and conchos and (abbreviated) patterning.
- Some experience with machine sewing is necessary to get the full benefit of this class.
There are many variations that can be created to make this design your very own. Students who have taken Beginning Shoemaking receive a 25% discount on this class. Contact us for your registration code(Sock not included)
