Ok People –this is your chance to have some input in some hand made sandal design. I’ve got some ideas I’ve been working on…but if you’re interested in making a pair of sandals for yourself, now’s the time to send photos, pictures, or drawings to us and get a 10% discount on the class for your efforts. There are only 6 spots in each class–so we’ll add classes if we get a lot of submissions. We’ll choose 3 designs from your offerings that can be made in a one day class and have the proper materials for them on hand. How about it?
We’ll be finalizing the designs by Friday, June 22. So send your ideas in asap–to info[at]chicagoschoolofshoemaking.com
Let the Sandal Designing Begin!
Mark Maysey
Hello, my wife and I took early retirements from the professional world several years ago and I’m now interested in making sandals and a particular design. I purchased a pair from a sandal maker in Texas a couple years ago called Piper Sandals and love their simple design. There is only one continuous strap and it travels underneath the insole which is leather and above the rubber sole, sandwiched between. For us traveling from California to Chicago to attend a school would be too much for us at this time. I was just wondering if there are any good books or publications I could learn from. I’d love to go as natural as possible as I have very sensitive lungs and the chemicals just wouldn’t work for me. I sincerely thank you for any help or advice you may offer us. Mark and Noy
