In a total of 16 hours of class time, we cover the fundamentals as well as make several projects.
Skill sets include:
Leather Knowledge, types and weights,
Reading a side of leather—where to cut
Tool identification and proper usage
Cutting tools and techniques, changing blades, strap cutter
Gluing: prep, aligning edges, when glue is viable, removing glue.
Punching holes, punching slots; choosing the proper size, techniques
Setting rivets, matched and unmatched rivets, setters and direct setting
Buckles: choosing, installing, creating a ring buckle, keepers
Setting a snap
Trouble shooting rivets, eyelets and snaps
Installing collar buttons
Setting misc hardware
Projects include, but are not limited to: totebag, leather case, card holder, wine bottle holder, wallet, cuff, belt and more.
